Personal Life, Parents and Family Details :
- Samira Koppikar was born on 26th September in Mumbai, India.
- She belongs to a Konkani Chitrapur Saraswat family.
- Her grandmothers on both sides of the family have been popular Indian Classical vocalists.
- Samira’s father was a cardiologist. She calls her father her ‘Music Doctor’ as he exposed her to great artists like Kishore Kumar, Michael Jackson and the Beatles.
- It was her father’s dream to see Samira as a good singer & a musician. In fact, her parents had encouraged her from a very early age of three to learn music.
- She started her music classes when she was three and till date, she is living her father’s dream.
- For her education, she studied Interior Designing. She also worked as a part of a band called as Ansh.

- Samira started her career by recording for advertising jingles.
- Indian Jazz Singers/ Gurus Joe Alvarez and Louis Banks first noticed her talent at a jamming session. These two singers became her mentors and source of started performing with her mentors, Joe and Louis.
- Samira released her first debut single song, ’Bebasi’ & the video received huge appreciation. The song was both written and composed by her.
- For the music video, she collaborated with famous musicians such as Indrajit Sharma, Kalyan Baruah, Sheldon D’silva, Prakash Sontakke, Gino Banks.

- She became more famous with her entry into Bollywood industry, after singing, Aaj Phir Tumpe for the movie, Hate Story 2 by music director Arko. The track was ranked as one of the top Bollywood songs of year 2014 and received more than 13 million hits on YouTube.
- Her next song, Mohabbat Barsa Dena Tu sung for the movie, Creature 3D, made her very popular. Both the songs were instantly a huge hit in India and overseas.
- She started her role as a music composer in Bollywood with the song, Maati Ka Palang of movie, NH10, starring Anushka Sharma & Neil Bhoopalam in lead roles.
- In 2015, she sang the popular song, Kabhi jo badal barse of movie, Jackpot along with Arijit Singh and Sharib Toshi.
