Coming from Pune, Pritam Kagne was an audiologist and speech therapist earlier by profession. She later turned to films because of her love for dancing.
Her first acting debut happened through the Marathi film Bokad and then moved down to do more South based films. She mentions that she did not face any language problems, because the whole team was very helpful. Her film Halaal was later selected for the Cannes festival. Later, she appeared in movie Navra Majha Bhavra along with the actor Nilesh Sable.
Currently, she lives in Mumbai. In 2016, she will be seen in the Marathi biopic of Gopinath Munde as the role of daughter of Shri Gopinath Munde. Her favourite actresses are Mukta Barve and Priyanka Chopra. She represented her movie Halaal for a special screening at Cannes film festival, becoming the first Marathi film actress to be at the famous event.
