She also has a B.A. in Spanish language and literature.
From 2012 to 2018, she was married to Peter Rosenberg, who is a disc radio jockey and host of Hot 97/ESPN. The couple had first met at the University of Maryland & had their wedding ceremony on a beach in Bayville, after seven years of dating. After 6 years of marriage, they went for a divorce.

When Peter and Alexa were married, they used to live in the Upper West Side of Manhattan, NY.
