Ali Lucia was born in Fairbanks, Alaska. She had lived in Colorado until she was 15 years old. Due to her job, she now lives in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Ali’s family is heavily into the culture of Youth hockey.
Her father, Don Lucia, a former hockey player himself, was the coach of the hockey team of the University of Minnesota – the ‘Minnesota Golden Gophers,’ from 1999 to 2018. Don married his wife Joyce (Ali’s mother) in 1983.

She has a sister Jessie and two brothers, Tony, who is an ex-Gopher, and the youngest, Mario, who played for Notre Dame, where their father went to school. Tony played for University of Minnesota from 2006 to 2010.
