- Anjana was born in 1978 in Portsmouth and spent most of her childhood there.
- She graduated from an all-girls school – the Portsmouth High School. It was an independent day school in Southsea, a district in the southern coastal city of Portsmouth, England. Among her favourite memories from Portsmouth High School are competing in tennis, netball, and lacrosse tournaments around the south of England and winning them
- After graduating, she went to the School of Orient and African Studies in London, intending to learn to read and speak Chinese Mandarin and major in History.
- At a Portsmouth girls awards event, Gadgil said, “The big choice I had as a new graduate was which of my interests to follow; I was offered a job in China having studied Mandarin, and I was also offered a job in sports journalism at The Guardian. Neither decision would have been wrong…the key thing is to get into a position where you have the luxury of choice.”

The way she spoke with Naftali Bennett was irresponsible and unacceptable. She should resign.
After hearing your comment in the interview with former Israeli PM Natalie Bennett in which you said “Israeli soldiers are happy to kill children” I lost all respect for you. Only someone with deep seated racist hatred can utter such a malicious words. It is precisely such venomous blood libles that has brought violence and genocide on the Jewish people. Shame on you and shame on the BBC. I’m a deep believer in G-d. You’ll be punished for this.
