Jane Dougall was born in 1978 in Glasgow, Scotland, where she was also raised. Her mother is Elma Dougall.
Jane has a younger sister, Gail Dougall Cummings. Jane was her sister’s bridesmaid for Gail’s marriage in November 2017.
After graduating from high school in Glasgow, Jane then attended the University of Strathclyde, also in her Scottish hometown. She achieved a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

After graduating from university, Jane started working for the BBC in 1999.
She was initially a BBC trainee from 1999 to 2000, then worked for BBC Radio Lancashire as a newsreader. She was also working on the sports bulletins, as well as reporting on the Blackburn area.

Following her stint at BBC Radio Lancashire, Jane worked for BBC Radio Manchester as a Manchester City Reporter, Newsreader, and a Sports Bulletin Presenter. She also worked for BBC North West Tonight as part of their regional news team until 2004.
In 2004, Jane started working as a reporter for ITV Granada, initially reporting on Manchester City news. She was at ITV until 2007.
From 2007 until 2010, Jane was a reporter for Channel Five News.

In 2010, Jane joined the ranks of Sky News, where she was a reporter and presenter until 2012. She then continued working as a presenter for Sky News and Sky Sports News but was also the presenter and co-producer of Sky Sports’ Sportswomen until 2019.

Jane had the opportunity to interview famed British boxer Amir Khan in 2004, just before he performed at the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens. In 2005, following a devastating earthquake in Pakistan, Jane convinced Amir Khan to join her on a trip to the most affected areas.
Following the catastrophic Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Jane was sent to report on the aftermath. She featured the story of a man who’d just lost his father to the hurricane.
Jane was a lead reporter on the case of the Ipswich murders in 2006.

She has received numerous awards for her excellent contributions to journalism. Some of her accolades include an ITV Gold award in 2004, another in 2005, and frequent nominations and RTS nods.
In 2008, while working for Five News, Jane had the chance to skydive over Mount Everest while reporting on other skydiving teams. In doing so, she became the first person from Scotland to skydive over Everest.
In 2017, Jane discussed the challenges of maintaining a strict fitness regimen in her 2017 blog post. She mentioned the difficulties of starting an exercise routine, especially during January of each year, when many people struggle with their fitness resolutions. The blog also addressed the issue of harassment faced by British women while running alone and suggested running in groups as a solutions.

You would be another Jock by any chance!!! She’s useless -Biased and not fit for purpose. I can’t understand why she is allowed to present sports on the BBC…so anti-English. Can’t stand her.
