She grew up on a farm and spent quite a lot of her spare time watching storms as they developed and this has been credited as one of the many reasons she grew so fond of meteorology.

Although she and her husband currently live in Forth Worth, Texas, they met and were married in St. Louis, Missouri, where she worked for KTVI-TV.

After falling in love with storytelling and television while on the journalism team at her high school, Parks decided to attend Mississippi State University where she graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in GeoScience.

While at Mississippi State, she was chosen to take part in the Great Plains Storm Chase by the university’s meteorology department. As part of the team of 8 students and 2 professors, Anna spent 16 days travelling to 9 states across the country in a bid to gain valuable field experience.

Anna covered various tornadoes and other crazy weathers conditions when she worked at WTWO/WAWV News in Terre Haute, Indiana then moved on to St. Louis, Missouri, where she worked at KTVI-TV as both a meteorologist and an anchor for their weekend morning show for three years.

Currently, she works at CBS 11 on the News 11 Weather and Fox 2 News teams as a broadcast meteorologist. Upon her arrival, the Vice President of the network, Andrea Parquet-Taylor raved about Parks and expressed the team’s excitement to have her on the network. She once quoted, Her experience with storms in the Midwest will lend itself well to forecasting here in North Texas.
In addition to working as a broadcast meteorologist, Anna also enjoys taking part in a few reporting and interviewing gigs and has interviewed the likes of Taylor Swift, Faith Hill and Robin Roberts.
She has worked as a reporter live from the red carpet at the 2013 CMA Awards, a gig she has since dubbed her career highlight.
