Raised in Arlington, Virginia, Suiter’s first job was working in a ‘mom & pop’ sandwich shop in McLean, Virginia, when she was just thirteen. Her first investigative assignment was about a local historic home while in AP History at Langley High School.
Kimberly has played soccer for Langley High School, Bucknell University’s women’s team and WAGS travel teams: Falls Marauders and Arlington Storm. She has also coached the U9 Lions team.

She graduated with an M.S. in journalism at the University of Missouri-Columbia and is a Phi Beta Kappa scholar. Kristen encourages female reporters to remain true to themselves, despite the social pressure to look like supermodels and has remained squarely in the spotlight.
In 2000, Kimberly married Channel 5 KOCO fellow news anchor Tyler Suiters. They both grew up in greater D.C. and have attended the same church for years but didn’t meet until 1997 when they worked together on WYFF. Then they both transitioned to KOCO near the same time. They collaborated in coverage of the 2003 Space Shuttle Columbia disaster through KOCO.

Starting her career as a chief intern under WRC’s Lea Thompson, and at Dateline NBC for two years, she also was the early morning news anchor on the weekend for NBC4. She has worked for WRC at three national political conventions and as a host for the Daily Connection.
She has worked in South Carolina and Oklahoma City doing investigative reporting, which had a local impact on the city council and school closures. She chased a few tornadoes, even writing a book on a tornado survivor, aptly named A Twist of Fate. She also taught journalism at the University of Oklahoma.
