Jerrie Demasi is an Australian journalist and the Chief Crime Editor at Nine News Perth. She is also a singer and has been the lead vocalist of bands Nylon and Felix.

Jerrie Demasi was born in December 1987 in a Greek Italian family in Northbridge, a suburb of Perth, Australia.
She has a younger sister, Elle Demasi, who is a primary school teacher.
After graduating high school in Northbridge, she attended the Edith Cowan University of Western Australia in Joondalup, also in Perth. Jerrie graduated with a Bachelor of Communications degree in 2010, followed by a Graduate Diploma of Broadcasting in 2011.

She initially auditioned for the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) to pursue her other passion, Musical Theatre. She was accepted but dropped out after a semester when she realized it wasn’t the right career path for her.
Jerrie met the man who would become her husband, fellow journalist Michael ‘Gena’ Genovese, at the WA Ball. Michael was attending one of Jerrie’s gigs with her cover band Felix. He forgot his phone in her car after she gave him a lift home. When Michal came to collect his phone, Jerrie’s mother asked him to stay for dinner. Soon after, Jerrie and Michael started dating.
Michael proposed to Jerrie in Athens, Greece, at the upscale rooftop restaurant Grand Bretagne.

On February 2nd, 2019, the couple got married at the same Northbridge Greek Orthodox Church where her grandparents’ and parents’ weddings had taken place.
The couple’s first child, a daughter named Tommie (after Demasi’s grandmother), was born in August 2022. Tommie’s birth weight was 2.6 kilograms, and she hadn’t cried for 24 hours after her birth due to her premature birth.
It was important to Jerrie to deliver her baby naturally, but she wasn’t dilating properly. Neither she nor the baby was safe, so she had an emergency C-section.

Currently, she resides in Perth, Australia with her husband and young child.
