Lizzie was once flown to Rio de Janeiro for a lengthy story on Marcelo Santoro, a Brazilian citizen who fled to his native country after allegedly murdering his former partner in Sydney.

Lizzie was at Nine’s London bureau during the “Great Kate Wait,” when she witnessed the birth of the future monarch, Prince George.

Lizzie adores a good murder mystery. In the early days of her career, as a Sydney court reporter, she documented a number of the city’s colourful criminals :- Backpacker killer Ivan Milat’s great-nephew Matthew Milat, who also got convicted of murder in the infamous Belanglo State Forest; cliffedge killer Des Campbell; and Keli Lane, who was convicted in the death of the newborn baby Teagan.
She also covered the trial for Mark Standen, the previous NSW Crime Commission head who had used his position to plan the importation of 300 kilograms of heroin.

During Mike Baird’s premiership, Pearl worked in the NSW Parliament Press Gallery. She covered the tumultuous period in state politics in which 10 Liberal MPs were forced to cross the floor or resigned amid heated ICAC proceedings.
