One of the few living American heroes left to tell the first-hand tale of the US-Iraq war of the early 2000s. Leif Babin is a decorated former Navy SEALs officer and now a successful co-founder owner of Echelon Front.

He is also a co-author of the #1 New York Times Bestseller Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win.

Personal Life : Parents, Family and Education

Leif was born and brought up in Southeast Texas.
Right after High school, Leif joined the United States Naval Academy, South Bank of Sever River in Washington, to pursue Bachelor of Science: Engineering.

He completed the course in 4 years from the year 1994 to 1998. There, he went through rigorous physical and mental hardships to come out as an honorable Navy SEAL.
At a time, almost 4,400 students are studying in this prestigious academy, which had been established way back in 1845.

Military Career :

After graduating from US Naval Academy, Leif’s first major mission as a Navy SEAL was Iraq in the year 2002 as a part of the US’ foreign policy to overthrow the dictatorial leadership of Saddam Hussein.
He was in command of one of the two platoons under the leadership of Commander Jocko Willink. Willink was leading SEAL Team 3’s Task Unit Bruiser, which later became the most decorated special operations unit of the Iraq war.
Most difficult challenge of the entire team was to capture the Al-Qaeda city in congruence with US Marines, US Army, and Iraqi local forces. Leif came very close to death during the operation.

After successfully capturing the Al-Qaeda city, Iraq and overthrowing Saddam Hussein, he returned to the USA at the end of 2006. Later, he took on the role of mentoring young cadets of the US Naval academy until the year 2011, after which he left the military service entirely.

Just after leaving the military, in December 2011, Babin founded Echelon Front Limited Liability Company along with General Willink, who also had quit the military service by then.

Echelon Front was established by them with a goal to train and inspire leadership in aspiring leaders from the business world through the discipline and learning of the US Navy SEAL team. Leif acts as a leadership instructor, speaker, and executive coach for the clients of the company.
In 2015, he and Jocko Willink released the book named ‘Extreme Ownership,’ which went on to become New York Times bestseller. Also, they launched an event named ‘Muster’ in October of 2016 in San Diego, whose immense success has led to its countrywide touring.
Apart from his active duty at his company, he is vocal on US’ foreign policy and military strategies & many of his articles have made their way to respected US magazines.
