He does not belong to any political party. Since 2004 he contested elections as a independent candidate and often challenges NCP candidate Udyanraje Bhoale.

In 2019, he contested in Lok Sabha from 2 constituency of Satara and Sangli. Eventually lost from both the constituency.
Currently, he is contestant of Bigg Boss Marathi Season 2 on Colors Marathi. He was quite hesitant when received the offer of the show, But his wife persuaded him to join the show.
