- Susan Diane Daggett was born in 1964 in Marianna, Arkansas, to Patricia B. Palmer and Jesse B. Daggett. Her mother Patricia is a painter and art instructor, while her father Jesse was a partner in a law firm in Little Rock, Arkansas – Daggett, Vandover & Donovan & Perry.
- Daggett comes from a long line of her attorneys on her father’s side of the family.
- Susan was raised in the delta of the Mississippi River, a rural and poor community, but her love for arts was instilled in her from a young age by her mother, Patricia.
- With that passion in mind, Susan attended Mount Holyoke College, in South Hadley, Massachusetts, where she graduated magna-cum-laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History. She was there from 1982 to 1986.
- From 1988 to 1991, she headed to the Yale Law School, where she became a Doctor of Law (Juris Doctor).
- While attending Yale Law School, she met the man who would become her husband, Michael Farrand Bennet. Michael was also attending Yale Law, and the two were introduced to each other on a blind date.
- Susan was engaged to Michael in 1996 after they moved in together.
- Susan married Michael Bennet on October 25, 1997, on the Crystal Lake in Marianna, Arkansas, Susan’s hometown. The wedding was celebrated under a tent in a field, with extreme weather alerts of storms and constant rain.

- From 1994 to 1996, Susan worked for the Sierra Club Legal Defense Fund in Bozeman, Montana as an associate attorney.
- She then worked for Earthjustice in Denver, Colorado, first as a staff attorney from 1998 to 2000, and then as a managing attorney from 2000 to 2005.
- From 2005 to 2008, Susan was an independent consultant, and served as co-director of the Rocky Mountain Energy Campaign.
- Since 2011, Susan has been working for the Rocky Mountain Land Use Institute at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. She is the executive director and Associate Professor of the practice.

Can’t support Michael Bennett. He voted with the radical leftist for a bill to federalize elections and part of that bill was to make it illegal to check a person’s identification before making a vote and to mandate unsolicited mail-in ballots for the entire country.
I can’t believe why anyone would vote for this measure…seems like political suicide but somehow Michael Bennett has gotten away with it so far. I’m sorry but I could never vote for someone who stood behind the horrible Democrat party and its obviously unconstitutional power grab.
