Family :
- Sheffali’s father Gulab Singh Thakur is an Indian politician, politically affiliated to Bhartiya Janata Party. He was a former speaker of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He has formerly held the post of Himachal Pradesh’s PWD minister.
- On November 27, 2002, Shefali got married to Anurag Thakur. Anurag is the son of Himachal Pradesh’s former chief minister Prem Singh Dhumal. Together, they became parents to two sons- Jaiaditya Thakur in 2004 and Udayveer Thakur in 2010. Anurag Thakur is a Member of Parliament in the Lok Sabha from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh. He is also a Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs.
- From 2015 to 2017, Anurag held the post of the President of Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), but the BCCI sacked him after the Supreme Court ordered him to cease work within BCCI.

- Anurag Thakur, the eldest son of Chief Minister Dhumal succeeded his father when he was elected as Member of Parliament of India’s 14th Lok Sabha from Hamirpur constituency.
- He followed it up by being re-elected to the 15th Lok Sabha in 2009, 16th Lok Sabha in 2014, and 17th Lok Sabha in 2019.
- He studied and completed his B.A. degree at Doaba College in Jalandhar, Punjab.
- Anurag was a budding cricketer and has played a Ranji Trophy match. There was controversy when Anurag picked himself to play a first-class match so as to fulfill a criterion to become a state-level selector.
- In July 2016, Anurag became a part of the territorial army thus becoming the first serving BJP Member of Parliament to become a regular commissioned officer in the Territorial Army.
