- Rachel Jeffs is an American author who came in the news for escaping the unlawful, patriarchal situation of the cult, Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS).
- In 2017, Rachel wrote a book on how she fled away from all of it and her own father’s atrocities and sexual abuse.
- Rachel was born in Colorado City, Arizona, and raised in a sect that lived outside of the proscriptions of federal law.

Personal Life, Parents and Family Details :
- Rachel is the first plural daughter of her father, Warren Steed Jeffs’ second wife. Warren had more than fifty wives!
- Warren is a convicted felon and was on the list of FBI’s 2006 “Ten Most Wanted Fugitives.” He was convicted of child sexual assault of a 12 and a 15-year-old girl in 2011 for which he is serving a life sentence plus 20 years with a $10,000 fine.
- Before his arrest, he was the President of the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (FLDS) where he conducted arranged marriages between underage girls & many male adults who followed him blindly.
- Rachel’s mother died of cancer after she was prohibited from taking treatment for her sickness.
- She has a whopping 47 siblings including Becky Jeffs, Roy Jeffs, Brent W. Jeffs, Clayne Jeffs, David Jeffs, Brandon Jeffs, amongst others.
Marriage :
- Rachel is married to Brandon Seth Blackmore, whom she met in Montana a few months after she began college.
- Brandon spent his childhood in the FLDS community of Bountiful, British Columbia, which is only 4-hour drive away from his Rachel’s home in Montana.
- Earlier, Rachel was married off at the age of 18 to a 25-year-old Richard Steed Allred, who already had two wives. His first two wives were envious of her, but he failed to do anything about it.

- Rachel has studied till Grade 8 in the church-run school. Although the education she received was of a low standard, it was still substantial enough for her to teach Grade 3 students.
- It was in Montana where she decided to get proper education on her own and earned a high-school equivalency, and began college thereafter.
Book, Salary and Net Worth :
- Initially, Rachel taught violin while she was in Idaho.
- Later, she wrote an autobiographic book titled Breaking Free: How I Escaped Polygamy, the FLDS Cult, and My Father, Warren Jeffs. In the book, she talks about how she fled the patriarchal extremism cult in 2014, of which she was unwillingly a part.
- The book also describes her chilling loss of childhood on account of being sexually abused by her father, a prophet of the FLDS community, the polygamist culture run by him, her coerced arranged marriage, and forced separation from her own children.

Brent, David Clayne, and Brandon are not her siblings but her cousin’s children, i.e children of her uncle.
Rachel Jeff’s is a very brave and courageous young woman! I really admire her and she is a good inspiration to young girls that life does go on after abuse! Thumbs up to Rachel!
Just finished reading Rachel’s book. Her courage and determination is an inspiration to anyone who has faced lifelong abuse and brainwashing. It would be wonderful to meet her face to face and hear how she has lived her life since her escape.
