Frank was born on April 18, 1957, in Denver, Colorado, with the full name of Franklin D. Azar.
Although his father was a lawyer, most of his family was in the ranching industry.
As such, he spent most of his childhood on his grandfather’s The Saliba Ranch in Walsenburg, Colorado. That ranch is still in his family.

He has credited his time at the ranch for teaching him hard work, as his grandfather routinely put him to work mending fences, branding cattle, and general ranch upkeep.
Frank grew up idolizing his father & his work as a lawyer, but his father discouraged him from practicing law as he believed the industry was changing too fast.
Not only did the discouragement not work for him, but Azar also has a brother named William who practices law in Alaska, and a sister named Yvonne who practices law in Colorado alongside him!

Frank was a smart kid, and after high school, he attended the University of Colorado, from where he graduated Cum-Laude in 1979.
He was also a member of the honor society Phi Beta Kapa.

Azar received his Juris Doctor (J.D.) to practice law from the University of Denver in 1982, and he was also admitted to the Bar in that year not only for Colorado but also for Texas.

In 1987, he launched his law firm ‘Franklin D. Azar & Associates’ which currently is still located in Colorado.

Some of his most notable cases have included a class action against Walmart to uphold the rights of its employees.

Interests :

Azar states his big interests are imported cigars and old movies, but he is also a big fan of golf. He takes an international holiday each year to a different location around the world that contains a famed golf course for him to play on.

He has also used his love of golfing to create the Azar Invitational, a golf tournament that raises money for students from the local Trinidad State Junior College to use for tuition at a university of their choosing.
