She grew up in New York with her older sister, Laura Berman and her parents.
Jennifer’s father was a colorectal surgeon and her passion to become a physician was inspired by the hospital rounds she made with her father as a child.
Before going into medicine, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Hollins College, Virginia.

Medical Education and Career :

Jennifer earned her MS degree from the University of Maryland School of Medicine in 1988.

The same year, she went on to study for her medical degree at the Boston University School of Medicine but returned to Maryland to finish her postgraduate study.
In 1992, Jennifer was a qualified urologist, but her training didn’t stop there.
