  • In 2023, she started pursuing a Masters of International Relations degree at Queen Mary University of London.

  • In 2007, Emily started her broadcasting career at 3WA and then became an Assistant Producer with NOVA, working for the Hughesy & Kate’s Breakfast Show.
  • She then became a radio newsreader and reporter for Macquarie Radio Network (now Nine Radio) and 1116 SEN Pacific Star Network. Angwin says her experience in radio was priceless because it taught her how to deal with deadlines.   • Her contacts in 3AW landed her the presenter role with Carlton Football Club. The football club was looking for more female representation, and Angwin fitted the bill.   • After 3.5 years with Carlton, Angwin moved to become a journalist with the Seven Network in Melbourne.   • During her time at the Seven Network, Emily regularly covered the Spring Racing event in Melbourne and also the Australian Open. Besides presenting general news, Angwin was also the fill-in weather presenter on Seven News.
  • From Oct 2019 to Dec 2020, Emily was an anchor at China Global Television Network (CGTN) at its headquarters in Beijing, China. At CGTN, she hosted The World Today and The Link during the COVID-19 outbreak, 2020 US elections and the Black Lives Matter protests.
  • From July 2021 until March 2023, Emily moved to Doha, Qatar, and took on the responsibilities as a Senior Presenter for the Al Jazeera English network. During her time here, she hosted prominent programs such as the News Hour, Inside Story, and daily bulletins.

  • When asked about the most memorable moments in her career, Angwin quoted covering the Rio Paralympics as one. The other was when the owner of Grenda’s Bus Services sold his business and decided to give his employees a percentage of the profit. Angwin remembered employees breaking into tears because they woke up to find tens of thousands of dollars of bonuses in their bank accounts. Angwin said it was a tremendous act of generosity.

  2. I am really in shock! Today was the first sight of Emily on Aljazeera presenting news on 6th May 2022. I would appreciate it if one day by any means, I can meet with her.

  3. I searched for Emily’s profile as I saw her for the first time on Aljazeera and I fell in love with her. She smiles by default and I really get stuck in a dream state watching her as the bad news flows. Looking at her really makes me look through the horrors. I wish I could have a chance to take her on a date someday.
