Highly creative and a trailblazer in her own right, Aimee has been working on her personal fashion brand since she was only 13.

Aimee grew up in Melbourne, Australia, and is one of 5 children. Both sets of her grandparents had moved to Australia to escape World War II.

Kestenberg’s mother is a dentist who has dedicated most of her career to helping impoverished and uninsured people in rural Australia.
Her father owns a business that specializes in imports and exports. When she was younger, Aimee would accompany her dad to work and help him out at his trade shows. She also traveled around Asia as his assistant buyer during her teenage years while also helping out at the Australian headquarters as a graphic designer.
She is married to a fellow designer and businessman named Sean Elan, whom she met when she was working at the Global Brands Group company. Sean is 2 years older than Aimee.

Besides being a power couple, Sean and Aimee are also business partners and co-owners of a successful line of handbags named after Aimee.

Immediately after high school, Kestenberg became a student at the Royal Melbourne Institute for Technology RMIT University. While there, she studied Industrial Design and earned a degree in Design Engineering and Ergonomics.

Despite her degree from RMIT, Aimee always had dreams of living in New York and studying at the prestigious Parsons School for Design. This dream came true after a grueling five-month application journey, and at just 20 years old, she packed her bags and moved to the USA.

As soon as she landed in America, Kestenberg got straight to work and combined her studies in New York with internships, fashion competitions, and apprenticeships.

During an exciting and eye-opening three-year period, she worked as an intern for several famous brands, including Isaac Mizrahi, Ralph Lauren, and Alexander McQueen. She also interned at the ‘Mercedes Benz Fashion Week’ before moving on to work under industry legends at the esteemed House of Couture.
After graduating from Parsons School for Design, Aimee caught the eye of the Global Brands Group.
While working at the Global Brands Group, she met and formed a close personal/professional relationship with her future husband, Sean Elan. The two decided to take a risk and build their own brand.

Aimee chose to focus on the creative aspects of the business, while Sean concentrated on all things finance and administration.
In the beginning, she worked from home, but as their brand grew bigger & as investors took an interest in their ideas, they moved on to a bigger, more professional working space.
The duo began by launching the Aimee Kestenberg Handbag Collection in November of 2012. Two years later, they created the company, Affordable Luxury Group.
