Her parents, who both worked in science field in their native Russia sought similar work in Canada and the United States, causing the family to move around North America frequently. As a result, Nina sees herself as adaptable, fiercely independent and can speak English and Russian fluently.

She currently lives in Whitefish with her estranged husband (although some reports in 2018 suggest that they have reconciled), the notorious American Alt-Right leader Richard Spencer.
Richard and Nina had met back in 2009 and have a young daughter daughter.
