  1. I have met Brother Roberts. I have read these comments. The most accurate statement I have read is that mercy exceeds sin.

    1. Roberts’ comment that AA Allen died as the result of alcoholism, has been challenged by this family. They say the doctor who pronounced him dead, recanted on his deathbed that he was paid 10,000 USD to inject Allen with liquor–which suggests Allen was murdered by one of the denominations that hated him. Is there any truth in this.?

  2. Some of you people are really good entertainment. Getting your knickers in a twist because Roberts is not perfect. I am so glad that a bunch of you can see into his heart and let the rest of us poor sods know what is going on there. So how many of you have been praying for and over him?

I sat under his ministry a LONG LONG time ago – long before the scandal broke – something in my heart was uneasy about him AND his mother but that didn’t stop me from pulling on the gifts inside him and being greatly blessed by them. I’ll admit that when I came across his name about 10 minutes ago, my first thought was “Is he married?” I suspect we all know why that thought would enter my mind.

A teacher once told me “Being an anointed teacher does not give you the ability to live it, just teach it.” Look at A.A. Allen, all the mind blowing things he did – yet he died of alcohol poisoning!

If Roberts still has issues with homosexuality, He will eventually self-destruct and that will be that.

God doesn’t tell us not to be homosexual to reduce the fun-factor in our lives, He told that us that because that’s not the way we where designed to work. If anything, pray for the man! As for everything he says, take carful notes and “When in doubt check it out.”

  4. Truth Over Fiction

I follow CHP Kilpatrick on YT and FB and he posted he would be in Roberts Liardon’s church…actually I was SHOCKED to see his ministry still in operation and more shocked that Kilpatrick was headed that way. This is just a week after Kilpatrick announced Benny Hinn is coming to CHP – oh my word, are we in the middle of a wash, rinse and repeat season? Look I’m not here to slander anyone – I can though share my personal EXPERIENCE, not my opinion.

The year was 2001, June to be specific. My mother had just passed away from breast cancer. Like many, I had God’s Generals in my library and Liardon was on my radar. He was going to be coming to Columbus, OH to speak at a small church. That is about 5 hours from me. But I was grief-stricken and looking for ‘leadership’. I traveled by myself. After the service which was dismal compared to my travels, tables were set up with all the ‘goods’ being marketed – (can you say money changers) – and I looked up, and here came Liardon. He walked right past me. His arm brushed me as he walked by and in my Spirit, I heard the Holy Ghost say, “Homosexual”…I literally broke out in a sweat from embarrassment and could not believe what I heard…I condemned myself for ‘thinking’ such a thing. I made a purchase and headed home.

Can you begin to imagine my dismay and bewilderment when just months later December 2001, the scandal would break? GUILTY. Now twenty-one years later, it still impacts me. I threw away every book and tape he had authored. Yes, God forgives. No, not for me to judge. But those works were done at a time when he was living hypocrisy. I wanted nothing to do with them. Really concerned that Kilpatrick is swimming with Liardon and Hinn. I have personal experience with the Hinn conferences. tsk tsk ….Legitimate question I hear all about Carol and her connection to Oral Roberts and naming Roberts for the University but WHO is his dad and why are no mentions of him? Secondly, is it just me or a coincidence that his last name tells it all? Liar…don!

    1. I saw some of the comments. I got saved in a church where Roberts was preaching in 1988. I won’t say much but I saw a comment from someone regarding his dad. I knew his dad and step-mom, my family and I regularly visited them and fellowshipped with them. His dad died many years ago. He and Roberts had a strained relationship when Roberts was younger, but eventually, his dad came to know Jesus!! He went to be with Jesus in the mid to late 1990s. I had met Gram Moore, his sister Priscilla, so I know quite a bit about his family, and I’m sure much I don’t know. That’s all for now.

      1. Karri!

This is Elizabeth Elwood Priebe, your roommate from years ago. We loved going to visit Roberts’ Dad and Stepmother. I miss you and was wondering how you were doing. Let me know. You can find me on Facebook or just email me.

    2. Thank you for this truthful share. While none of us are perfect we are commanded to live holy lives. How much more for leaders! I don’t believe Mr. LIAR. Don is living honestly and have my reasons for saying that. He’s a con simply put and an undiscerning church enables him and those like him by screaming grace is over him. Not good!

  5. Thank You, Lord, for mercy prevails over judgment…your mercy overflows! Amen.

    God bless you brother.
    Your servant Paul.

  6. Those who have never spared a breath of prayer for Roberts and the great work he’s done and is still doing, have no right to judge him.

The Lord is able to keep His servants, and He keeps Pastor Roberts.

  7. Celebrity is the death knell for most men in ministry. The flesh is too weak to resist the pride of self-importance, which, in turn, leads to the lie that they can sin without being exposed.

  8. Scary- would it be better to read the word in context to avoid all this weirdness? If we pick and choose what is written in the word, does not our mind not play tricks on our understanding? Earthly wisdom, not Godly wisdom?

What does it mean when God gives those over to passions? And what about 2 Thess. 2 talks about God’s truth and those who desire another? If you push for your WAY and WILL- REJECT The Lords WAY, WILL, and TRUTH, as Lester Sumrall said at a camp meeting one year after waiting and waiting after alter call, “well just go to hell if you want too!”. Then people came forward.
    Scary, Matt:7, “..never knew you…”

So much for that have it your way at booger king thinking!

Makes me cry out to The Lord right now! Don’t want to play in the devil’s playground…

  9. Why is there absolutely no mention that 2002, Roberts Liardon, pastor of Embassy Christian Center in Irvine California, admitted to being in a long-term homosexual relationship with his associate youth pastor. His statement? “I know you have been hearing some rumors and I wanted to let you know that they were true. I have been having a homosexual relationship with the youth Pastor John. I will be getting counseling and I will be back in 3 months. ” No visible contrition or repentence. And he was back in only 3 months later, suggesting that whatever in-depth scrutiny of his leadership role and “ministry” was already pre-planned and agreed to. What kind of repentance is this?

If Paul the apostle laid out clear guidelines for the office of a deacon, leaders in the church, how is such a failure without real repentance allowable or not acknowledged in the future? It broke up the church, it caused people to be offended and fall away, it hurt the faith. He has no business being promoted without a measure of accountability, especially when there was no real public repentance.

According to Charisma Magazine, “The scandal triggered an exodus from Liardon’s church and from his accredited school, Spirit Life Bible College. Some leaders who left complained that Liardon did not accept initial pastoral counsel from a leader who advised him to step away from the pulpit for one year. Others were upset that Liardon’s mother, Carol, insisted on running the ministry while her son was on his brief sabbatical.

Because Liardon’s ministry is independent, he is not required to follow rehabilitation policies that are mandatory for ministers who belong to denominations or ministerial fellowships. ”

“In a random Survey, Charisma found no denomination or church network that allows fallen ministers to return to ministry after only three months. ”

So he turned down the counsel to leave for at least a year to somehow prove the merits of his actual repentance, and then had his mother in control for what is called a “brief sabbatical”.

    1. Many Christians n ministers are modern Pharisees. They judge n condemn another thinking themselves are righteous n honor to judge others. Only Jesus Christ the true Judge. That pastor has committed sin. Then we shall forgive n forget. Why bring out a long history of the pastor who had committed homosexual acts many years ago.

We should pray for him n encourage him back God. Didn’t David sin…Which 15 mins or so God forgave him. God forgave him instantly before Nathan the prophet could walk out the king courtyard. So please forgive Robert. He will rise up to bless us. Amen!

  10. 2002 devastated me as a young believer. I devoured everything this man wrote and listened to every sermon I could find. I traveled hours to hear him speak and only to discover hypocrisy? My faith is in Christ, not Roberts Liardon, I know. I pray he is operating under the Unction of the Holy Spirit, but for me, it was all just too much, particularly in that he was diagnosing other ministers and why they fell…classic beam in his own eye from my perspective. I check in from time to time – I think I’m looking for acknowledgment, at least, or some lesson akin to the Generals books. I saw a note that he may have married? All I can think is “beard”!

Not my law broken, not my forgiveness he needs, but he has it. I just can’t participate until this is somehow dealt with; properly studied and explained. It’s just that personal to me.
